Long Dining Room Table Centerpiece
For those who have the advantage of a long dining room table, creating a candle lit snow village will provide a dramatic flair to any dining experience. Using a Christmas candle centerpiece that encompasses a snow village will also allow you to show off your artistic abilities. Place a snowy white tablecloth on the table, cover with a lacy overlay with a small snowflake motif. Using long taper candles, arrange them around the snow village in the center of the table. Use cake risers to elevate the buildings, and use fake snow crystals and miniature nature elements to fill out the scene. Place the taper candles around the village to cast light upon the snow and even use miniature tea lights to light suitable buildings and homes from within.

Time Fo Some Lawn Care Yo, Organic

Dang, it been like foreva and eva since I update dis thang yall. Anyway, the winters here in the Chi are nuts and crazy fo sho but I am looking forward to the spring, yep, the spring.

It really is nice here when the warmer weather comes in and I have made it my missione to learn something about the grass this year too. I want to have nice grass up in here. harvey is really a nice area for me and the house here is looking better and better the more I fix it up, but really though, I need to get dat lawn looking good.

I learned all about natural lawn care blogs too. It seems that it is really not that difficult once you get thehang of it and this cat over here does a good job of splaining it too. Ya’ll should check dis dude out yo?

Waz With This Cold and Ice?

Shoo I tell you what, this cold is nuts and a half ya’ll. I am thinking that I just want to curl up in a ball and sleep away the rest of this year. Wih all of this cold, I am thinking that I may need some new furnace filters and maybe even totally new insallation.

As you know, this place here in Oak Lawn was built back in the 1960s and hasn’t had a lot of updating since then. But since I am just freshly out of college, it means I don’t have the funds to add in the improvements that are 100% necessity. I think I need to make a list and work on one thing at a time.

Speaking of improvements, Lakisha told me that she uses that plastic film over the windows at her house and it cuts down on the drafty winds that blow through these old houses. Have any of you tried that? If so, hit me up on text.

Oh girls, you have not clue how much stuff I am picking up for you all this year. I can’t believe the sales I am finding over at the mall. I think this downed economy is making the stores offer like some huger than normal discounts.
I found Polo shirts at 70% off over at Macys and I mean the real ones with the pony on the chest and not the fake kind. They also had some nice nautical jackets on sale. Of course, that is all the stuff I am getting for the boys, but you guys will see some of the fruits of my shopping labor too.

Get out now and get on those sales girls because the holiday season is right up on us now!

Seeing The Deer

WHen I moved here I did not know there were deer everywhere. I really think it is cool that they come right up into the back yard. However, I do notice them eating my bushes (like the evergreens) out in the side yard. I think they will grow back.

Anyway, I think that owning a home is the coolest thing and even better when animals come around. Like wild ones.

You girls will hafta come over and spend the night one night and see these cool deer coming up in the yard.
